Dodgers, Giants lined up for September pennant race

The Dodgers and Giants go into the final weekend of August tangled in a pennant race with Los Angeles holding a precarious 4.5 game lead.

The Dodgers end the month with three games in San Diego while the Giants host Central Division leaders Milwaukee for three games at AT&T Park.

The Dodgers then host Washington, Arizona and San Diego in three-game sets before making a road trip Sept. 12-21 with games at San Francisco, Colorado and Chicago.

The Dodgers close the regular season with a six-game home stand against the Giants and the Rockies.

San Francisco opens September on the road with four against the Rockies and three games at Detroit.  The Giants then host Arizona and Los Angeles Sept. 9-14 before starting a nine-game road trip Sept. 15-24 at Arizona, San Diego and Los Angeles.

The Giants end the regular season with a four game series at home against San Diego.

The Dodgers and Giants meet head-to-head six times in September in games that will decide the National League West.
