After dropping two of three to the last place Chicago Cubs,
the Dodgers continued to look sluggish tonight, falling to the cross town Angels 5-0 in the opening game of a
home-and-home four game set.
Zack Greinke gave up four runs in the first inning and
Garrett Richards pitched a complete game five-hitter for the Angels to quiet the Los Angeles
offense.
Doubles by Albert Pujols and Mike Trout sparked the Angels’ first inning rally and a throwing error by Hanley Ramirez added the fourth run.
Josh Hamilton hit a solo homer in the sixth inning to cap
the scoring.
The Dodgers’ loss, coupled with a San Francisco win against
the Mets, cut the lead in the National League West to 1.5 games.
The Dodgers will try to right the ship tomorrow night when
ace Clayton Kershaw goes to the mound.
